2000: BC - Mon, 10/2/00

They made such a big deal about Dimitri being out at SOS alone because Alex is working late that I'm guessing Finola Hughs is now on maternity leave.

Why do people insist on going to SOS for the SOLE PURPOSE of discussing important matters? Brooke and Eliot are there to talk about the strong possibility of them (but really only Brooke) getting custody of Ricky tomorrow. I'm sure nightclubbing the night before the hearing will go over well. Once her wrap comes off, though, it's clear Brooke is dressed for action!

Erica and Jack just happen to stop by and have drinks at SOS, totally honing in on Bianca (although I suspect Jack is merely tagging along in a desperate effort to run interference). You had to love this little interchange between mother and daughter: Erica: "Honey, look, I didn't come here to spoil your good time!" Bianca: "Then why DID you come here, Mom?" Erica: "Well certainly not to spy on you, I mean my mother used to watch me like a hawk -- I would NEVER do that to you, NEVER! Believe me, I'm NOTHING like Grandma!" Bianca: "No kidding." BWAHAHAHAAAA!

Both Jake and Joe have tried to tactfully let Gillian know that they know she and Ryan have been having an affair. The question is: Did Gillian actually get that? She's kind of stupid, you know :-) Whether she gets it or not is irrelevant, because she pledges her everlasting love to Ryan when she calls to tell him they can't meet tonight, then goes to Jake's room to seduce him. There she is taking Jake's clothes off. The sax player is in high gear (but is Mr. Winky?) She HAS to complicate things, doesn't she? She can't think about it for a SINGLE day? There is NO hope for this airhead!

They're going a little overboard with the "meaningful" songs lately, aren't they? "All By Myself" for Brooke's "last dance" with Eliot -- now THERE'S a sledgehammer being slammed over our heads!

Do you think Joe has his stethoscope to the wall of Jake's bedroom? Is his eardrum exploding from the saxophone?

Jake takes a bullet to his spine, is paralyzed for a couple of days, flies home to PV, but still can barely get out of his chair. He's clearly in pain, but he's up and about and climbing stairs by nightfall and now he and Gillian have every intention of consummating their love, despite his impotency and jetlag. Uh-huh.
